"This note is typical of the series with its intricately engraved scroll work and beautiful geometric lathe work...Like silver or gold certificates they were redeemable in silver or gold coin, but the form of payment ...was left to the discretion of the Secretary of the Treasury. The rapid redemption of the Treasury or 'coin notes' almost bankrupted the Treasury by 1893."  Card is Mint and measures 10" x 8".
